Amazon Luna Changes for the Worse as it Removes More Features

Amazon Luna ends game purchases, BYOL, and third-party subscriptions in 2026. Learn key dates, access changes, and what’s happening to your games.

Amazon Luna, Prime Gaming, Amazon Games, whatever you want to call it is back in the headlines as another change is coming to the platform. It’s unclear if this is a move to improve things (perhaps there is a good plan in the end) but since it actually removes platform features, maybe not.

Amazon Luna Key Changes & Important Dates

2025 marks a lot of changes in Amazon’s gaming division in general. In-game benefits were completely eliminated without proper notice, several partnerships ended, and the Prime Gaming brand was discontinued and confused everyone with Luna Standard, which honestly still confuses people to this day.

And because we thought 2026 would be quieter, Q2 started with another change. Amazon officially announced that they are disabling third-party stores and purchases. So the massive partnerships with EA, GOG, and Ubisoft won’t continue beyond June this year.

If you bought a game or subscription on Luna, you should read this. Since there are different dates to keep in mind and different platforms, it can be a little confusing. So to make things easier, here is a list of points:

    • Game Purchases (A-la-carte Titles)

      • April 10, 2026: New individual game purchases are no longer available.
      • June 10, 2026: Previously purchased games cannot be played on Luna.
      • Purchases are non-refundable (except under Amazon’s Digital Product Return Policy).

    • Bring Your Own Library (BYOL)

      • April 10, 2026: Feature begins to be phased out.
      • June 3, 2026: BYOL is discontinued completely.
      • After that date, games from external libraries (EA, GOG, Ubisoft) will no longer be playable on Luna.

    • Ubisoft+ & Jackbox Games Subscription

      • April 10, 2026: New subscriptions via Luna are no longer available.
      • Active subscription:

        • Will renew one final time after the current billing cycle.
        • Then it will be automatically cancelled.

      • June 10, 2026: Access to this subscription in Luna ends.
      • Subscriptions purchased directly from Ubisoft remain unaffected (outside of Luna).

    • Third Party Game Stores (EA, Ubisoft, GOG)

      • April 10, 2026: Store removed from Luna.
      • June 10, 2026: Remaining access to related content via Luna ends.

While a-la-carte titles you previously purchased will no longer be playable on Luna after June 10, 2026, you won’t lose access to the games you purchased. You can continue playing by logging directly into the third-party platform account (EA App, GOG Galaxy, or Ubisoft Connect) that you linked when you first made your purchase.

Since you retain ownership and access to these games through their respective external launchers, purchases made through Luna are final and not eligible for refunds. To ensure you don’t lose your in-game progress, your game save data will be available for download from the Luna Settings page for 90 days after June 10, 2026.

However, since save data compatibility varies greatly depending on the game publisher and platform you are moving to, it is highly recommended that you download your save as soon as possible to test it on your intended platform.

This is a big shift in the platform, unless there’s a bigger picture we haven’t seen yet, it looks like this is another move by Amazon to shrink its gaming division.

    PakarPBN

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
